Without a Fanfare! My blogging debut...

2 minutes read.

I have been thinking about blogging for a while—okay, for years, in all honesty. I'm a logophile. This fondness and fascination for words dates back to the day I finally received, as the most thoughtful gift, the blue typewriter I wanted so much as a child. You see, that's back when I followed the tribulations of Jessica Fletcher (Angela Lansbury) in Murder She Wrote... I loved watching that show! That is to say that this obsession with words, writing, and reading has been present for quite some time!

Why not start now? I’ve realized that my voice matters, and I have valuable insights to share. I’ve been observant and engaged with the world around me, and it's time I embrace that.

I have a wealth of knowledge to offer and a strong desire to connect with fellow professionals in the built environment. There’s so much happening in the world of design, and I'm eager to dive into the latest best practices and trends. I’m ready to contribute and inspire discussions that can lead to innovative ideas. Let’s explore this exciting journey together!

Therefore, I decided to plunge. I'll commit to writing the blog I have longed for, while seeking inspiration, purpose, and relevance in my contribution. I figured I'd find my people along the way, and together, we could discuss purposeful design, health in interior environments, design philosophy, sustainable design, and more.
Better together!

That's precisely what has been happening lately: people have come, asked questions, shown up, and reached out to contribute and collaborate. It could not make me happier. I am building a community of like-minded professionals, of curious people. All of which are partial to interesting and complex discussions about design.

What do you say? Ancient or modern, or multidisciplinary wisdom; the importance of research (and Evidence-based Design solutions); and the incorporation of interdisciplinary knowledge & collaborations (because we are stronger together), biophilia, ecology, human geography, linguistics in design, storytelling, are all things I'd like to see more of in the built environment world! So whether you are an architect, a builder, an interior designer, a decorator, an artist, a trade person, a layperson, an environmental psychologist, a philosopher, or just someone interested in phenomenology and/or other obscure areas of design, or just a plain curious mind, I'll do my best to interest you in topics I believe are, sadly, too often overlooked, in our practice.
And remember, here, all are welcome!

What do you say, friend? Are you in?

I'm here to help, so please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or thoughts to share. Your feedback is valuable, and we can help shape the future of the built environment design together.
